Applying to Take the VTNE®
Before applying for the VTNE, here is some important information you need to know.
VTNE Candidate Handbook
Before continuing, be sure you download and read the Candidate Handbook for the entire VTNE policy regarding:
- refunds
- withdrawing/cancellations
- rescheduling
- test day requirements
- ID requirements – name changes
- absences
- score reporting
Selecting an Exam Window
- You must take the exam during the exam window for which you apply, or you will forfeit your exam fee.
- You may reschedule your exam once for a $90 fee up to 48 hours before your scheduled exam time.
Payments and Refunds
- You’ll need to pay an exam application fee of $365 or redeem a voucher at the time you submit your application.
- Additionally, all sales are final and nonrefundable.
Application Status and MyAAVSB Account
- During your application process, we’ll create a MyAAVSB account for you and tell you how to sign in.
- Then, you can check your application status using your MyAAVSB account.
Requesting Accommodations
- When you complete your application, you’ll have the opportunity to indicate if you need to request accommodations. The process can take time, so, if you anticipate the need to request accommodations, it’s best to start the process early in the application window. Download and review the Accommodations Guide for more information.
Proof of Identity
Make sure the first and last name on your application matches the first and last name of your valid government photo ID with signature that you’ll show on exam day.
