Before you can take the VTNE, you need to apply.

Before you apply, we’ve got important information you need to know.

Payments and Refunds

• You’ll need to pay an exam application fee of $355 at the time you submit your application
• Payment is by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express)
• You won’t be able to get a refund after the application deadline

Selecting an Exam Window

• You must take the exam during the exam window for which you apply or you will forfeit your exam fee 
• You may reschedule your exam once for a $90 fee up to 48 hours before your scheduled exam time
• You can’t transfer your eligibility to a future exam window

Proof of Identity

• Make sure the first and last name on your application matches the first and last name of your valid photo ID with signature that you’ll show on exam day 

Application Status and MyAAVSB Account

• As part of your application, we’ll create a MyAAVSB account for you and tell you how to sign in
• You can check your application status using your MyAAVSB account

Requesting Accommodations

When you complete your application, you’ll have the opportunity to indicate if you need to request accommodations. The process can take time, so, if you anticipate the need to request accommodations, it’s best to start the process early in the application window.
