Transferring Your License
If you’re relocating or expanding your practice to include multiple jurisdictions, it’s important to become licensed wherever you intend to work.
In the veterinary community, we often refer to this as a license transfer, but keep in mind that getting licensed in another jurisdiction doesn’t mean you’re giving up your existing license. As long as you meet each jurisdiction’s requirements, you can get and maintain licenses in multiple jurisdictions.
At the AAVSB, we’ve got services that can help you if you:
- Are moving to a different jurisdiction and need to get licensed to practice there
- Want to get licensed to practice in multiple jurisdictions at the same time
Veterinary Application for Uniform Licensure Transfer (VAULT) Services
Navigating the licensure process and differences between jurisdictions can be daunting. Research, paperwork, and phone calls take time and the process can be confusing. The AAVSB is here to help.
We’re the only organization in the United States or Canada to offer license transfer services for veterinarians and veterinary technicians, in which we help you provide and communicate the necessary information to the appropriate regulatory board(s).
